Cardiac Output Calculator - HR x SV Formula
Calculate cardiac output (blood pumped per minute) with the HR x SV formula.
Cardiac output
50,4 L/min
Cardiac output = HR × SV. Normal resting range: 4-8 L/min. Informational, not a diagnosis.

Frequently asked questions
What is cardiac output?
It is the volume of blood the heart pumps per minute. It is calculated by multiplying heart rate (bpm) by stroke volume (mL per beat). At rest, the normal range is 4-8 L/min.
What is a normal stroke volume?
In a healthy adult at rest, stroke volume is around 60-80 mL per beat. Trained athletes may have larger volumes.
The Cardiac Output Formula
Cardiac output = heart rate x stroke volume. With 72 bpm and 70 mL/beat: 72 x 70 = 5,040 mL/min ≈ 5 L/min, a normal resting value. This is informational and does not replace medical evaluation.
